FERRO Klima
HIGHLY INSULATED EXTERNAL DOOR BLANKS FOR OPTIMISED THERMAL PERFORMANCE AND OUTSTANDING DIMENSIONAL STABILITY UNDER EXTREME CLIMATIC CONDITIONS (CLIMATE CLASSES ACCORDING TO EN 12219).
FERRO Klima external door blanks and SANDWICH Klima door infill panels from Moralt have been developed for high-quality entrance door constructions with a particular focus on thermal insulation and dimensional stability. Their multi-layer construction combines carefully selected wood-based materials with a lightweight, high-compression insulation core to deliver reliable technical performance in everyday use.
The integrated insulation core contributes to the excellent thermal performance of the complete door assembly. An insulated flat steel stabiliser enhances structural stability while helping to minimise thermal bridging within the door leaf construction. As a result, FERRO Klima is ideally suited for energy-efficient building concepts and applications with demanding requirements for thermal performance, functionality, and reliable processing.
FERRO Klima is Passive House certified and achieves outstanding technical performance in accordance with EN 14351-1. The system provides fabricators and door manufacturers with a reliable foundation for producing high-quality entrance doors that combine excellent thermal insulation, structural stability, and long-term user comfort.
FERRO Klima combines high technical performance with intelligent engineering and outstanding manufacturing quality. It is particularly suitable for projects where thermal insulation, dimensional stability, and certified system performance are key requirements.
QUALITY FEATURES:

The 5-layer veneer board
A 5-layer, AW-glued veneer plywood panel made from carefully selected woods.
Advantages:
-
The decorative veneer layer consists of high-quality, sliced – or Fineline veneers, which are joint-glued together as shown. Our recommendation is to shorten the blank at both ends.
-
The Moralt external door blank achieves a visual veneer structure on both sides, which corresponds to a door of very high quality.
Burglary resistance
Better safe than sorry: Our blanks offer all the prerequisites for producing burglary-resistant front doors: resistance class RC3/ RC2 according to DIN EN 1627: 1999-04 on the surface of the blank.
Flat steel stabilizer
A flat steel stabilizer consisting of two flat pieces of steel grooved into the wood and glued over the entire surface. This works according to the static principle of tension and compression.
Advantages compared to a U-shaped steel and square profiles:
-
No thermal bridge due to thermal separation of the two pieces of steel .
-
Free of cavities, so no condensation forms inside.
-
The flat steel stabilizers do not show on the surface even when the building moisture is high.
-
Low weight by avoiding unnecessary steel joints.
Frame
Unmistakable handcrafted charm: Our stiles and rails are made of solid, carefully selected - or laminated, finger-jointed timber.
PUR rigid foam
Highly recommended: The inner core is made of polyurethane.
Advantages:
-
Low weight, excellent thermal insulation.
-
Foam can withstand extreme temperatures: short-term up to 250 °C, long-term up to 110 °C.
-
Compressive strength is sufficient to place insulating glass on it in the vision panel.
-
Thanks to production under controlled conditions, the polyurethane quality is continuously at a high level.
LVL core middle layer
The LVL core with upright-standing annual rings, consisting of approx. 5 mm wide peeled veneers glued together. The optimum strength is attained through offset joints within the inner core layer.
Advantages:
-
Highest strength values from the offset laminated joints.
-
Optimum surface smoothness thanks to the even distribution of the individual veneers and the consistent position of the annual rings.
Local wood species

Advantages:
-
Highest strength values from the offset laminated joints.
-
Optimum surface smoothness thanks to the even distribution of the individual veneers and the consistent position of the annual rings.
