With the Paris Agreement, the international community agreed on the goal of limiting the global temperature increase to well below 2°C compared to pre-industrial levels. The Paris climate target is to be achieved through international cooperation through national climate protection contributions. The climate protection contributions announced by states to date are far from sufficient.

The success of emissions reductions depends largely on voluntary and consistent action by businesses in industrialized countries. That is why Moralt AG is once again taking responsibility for its emissions for 2021. The company's impact on the environment has been fully compensated for by purchasing climate certificates since 2015.

After implementing a variety of measures to reduce emissions in the company, Moralt AG has decided to compensate for its remaining CO2 emissions by participating in the “Guanaré Forest Plantations” climate protection project in Uruguay. This project involves the reforestation of a total of 21,298 hectares of land that was previously used as pasture. Sustainable FSC®-certified forest management is based on the principles of the Forest Stewardship Council®. In addition, the project promotes sustainable development on site.

In addition, Moralt AG’s products are now also classified as “climate positive”. The high proportion of wood in the products in combination with the manageable energy expenditure for harvesting, purchasing and transporting the components leads to a positive CO2 balance for our atmosphere. Moralt products make such a positive contribution to the climate because they bind significantly more CO2 than is produced during production.

In 2020, Moralt joined the Alliance for Development and Climate as a supporter. The organization, which is part of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), supports the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). “With our activities we support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, the global sustainability agenda, and the achievement of the goals of the Paris Agreement; In this way, we contribute to development and climate protection at the same time. We want global sustainable development and are actively facing the climate protection challenges that lie ahead of us,” says Klaus Feile, CEO of Moralt AG.

Since the introduction of the quality management system at Moralt over 20 years ago, environmental policy has been an essential part of the company philosophy. “We have always strived to reduce the impact of our actions on the environment to a minimum,” says Feile.

The traditional company Moralt is a manufacturer of door blanks and door systems for functional wooden doors. Sound insulation, smoke protection and fire protection solutions from Moralt protect health and life and effectively prevent damage to health. Door solutions with thermal insulation and passive house certificate save valuable heating energy in buildings and thus avoid unnecessary CO2 emissions for many years.
