Despite the crisis in Ukraine and Greece, increasing refugee flows and terrorist threats, the year 2015 was marked by the issue of climate change. The increasingly noticeable global climatic changes have finally become a concern of the "powerful". First there was the G7 summit in Elmau, where the necessity of energy transition by 2050 and decarbonisation of the world by 2100 were agreed. Then Pope Francis in the Laudato Si exhorted us to care about this world that we inhabit. He regards water shortages, famine and impoverishment as a consequence of climate change and requested us all to take over responsibility. The commitment of the Presidents of China and the United States to fight against climate change and the unanimous adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals were further significant signals for the positive outcome of the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference.

Die Moralt AG ist ein klimaneutrales Unternehmen The success of emission reductions and the expansion of renewable energies mainly depend on the voluntary and consistent action of the economy in the industrialized countries. That’s why Moralt AG takes over responsibility for its carbon dioxide emissions also in 2016. Through the acquisition of climate certificates, the company's impact on the environment could be fully compensated for the first time in 2015.

Since the introduction of the quality management system at Moralt around 20 years ago, environmental policy has become an integral part of our corporate philosophy. „It has always been our aim to reduce the impact of our actions on the environment to a minimum” stated Klaus Feile, CEO of Moralt AG. "In the meantime, Moralt AG has also become a member of the Climate Alliance Munich Oberland, same as 30 other exemplary enterprises, which decided to become carbon-neutral.”

Despite the implementation of a variety of measures within the company, Moralt AG has decided to compensate its carbondioxide emissions by investments in the climate protection project „Cikel Brazilian Amayon REDD APD Project – avoiding planned deforestation“ in Para state, Brazil. The project’s main activities are the cancelation of planned deforestation activities and the conservation of forest area through the continuation of limited FSC-certified forest management work, using low-impact logging practices. It also aims to intensify its efforts to support social development and maintain and improve biodiversity monitoring at the Rio Capim Complex under the framework of FSC certification and REDD.

The traditional company Moralt AG in Germany is manufacturer of door blanks and performance door solutions for interior and exterior use. Moralt’s sophisticated door systems with acoustic insulation as well as fire and smoke protection help to save live and health. Door solutions with thermal insulation or passive house solutions help to save heating costs, avoid unnecessary carbon dioxide emissions and improve livelihood for future generations. Moralt AG is exhibitor at the world’s leading exhibition Fensterbau/Frontale from 16 – 19 March 2016 in Nuremberg, stand 504 in hall 8.
